Science festival "Fête de la science" 2023

This year, the GéoEND laboratory from the GERS department will present two animations at the Science Festival.
You can find us on:

• October 7th from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and
• October 8th from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM,

at 2 Rue du Cheval Blanc, 44000 Nantes.

This animation offers an opportunity to discover - or rediscover - waves (mechanical, electromagnetic) through a series of fun experiments that will help visualize certain wave phenomena. You will have the chance to interact with researchers who utilize these phenomena for structural inspection.

Learn how to create a levee that will protect the city you've previously built while adapting the constructions to the risk of submersion. Install sensors that will monitor the levee in real time and raise the alarm. When the siren goes off, observe the catastrophe and which buildings have survived. You can also engage in discussions with researchers who will provide you with key insights into understanding construction regulations tailored to flood risks.
